Description
The BDM-050 is a later-generation motherboard used in the Sony DualSense PS5 controller. It features a revised PCB layout and updated internal circuitry compared to earlier BDM revisions. The board manages the controller's main processing functions, including button inputs, analog stick signals, USB-C charging and data communication, Bluetooth connectivity, and power distribution. It also controls the haptic feedback motors and adaptive trigger systems. A notable feature of this revision is its updated touchpad sensor design, which uses a honeycomb-style pattern rather than the square-wave pattern found on the BDM-030 and BDM-040. The BDM-050 also introduces changes to the adaptive trigger assembly, including a plastic trigger hinge pin and a redesigned trigger housing.
