Here's how, from least to most drastic. by CircuitScope · 30 Oct 2026 · 1 PS5 SSD, NAND and DDR4 error codes Storage, loader, NOR and TPM codes from the UART log, and where to start. by CircuitScope · 30 Oct 2026 · 1 DualSense / DualShock 4 stick drift: clean, recalibrate or replace the stick Stick drift is when the character or camera moves with no input. It's caused mainly by wear in the stick's potentiometers, sometimes by dirt. Try the software fixes and a clean first. A lasting fix means desoldering the analogue stick module and fitting a new one, or a Hall-effect/TMR replacement. by CircuitScope research team · 09 Oct 2026 · 2 PS5 stuck on blue light / won't boot: first checks A PS5 whose light stays blue (or blinks) and never turns white has usually crashed during start-up, has a software or storage problem, or is short of a good picture connection. Work through the non-invasive steps first: read the light, power-cycle, Safe Mode and reinstalling the system software. Then move on to board-level diagnosis only if those fail. by CircuitScope research team · 09 Oct 2026 · 1 PS5 overheating shutdowns: liquid metal leak or dried-out TIM PS5s that run hot, get loud and shut themselves down are usually clogged with dust, or the liquid-metal thermal compound between the APU and heatsink has migrated, hardened or attacked the heatsink plating. Clean the cooling path first. If that doesn't fix it, strip to the board, clean off the old liquid metal and re-apply it inside the original foam barrier. by CircuitScope research team · 09 Oct 2026 · 2 PS5 HDMI port replacement (no picture / no signal) A PS5 that powers on to a white light but gives no picture, or only works while the cable is held, very often has a damaged or lifted HDMI socket. The fix is to rule out the TV and cable, confirm the port is at fault, then remove the old socket with hot air and fit a new one. If a new port doesn't cure it, the HDMI controller chip may also be damaged. by CircuitScope research team · 09 Oct 2026 · 2
