About this component
All PAL Mega Drive IIs use the MB3514 (North American boards mostly use a Samsung KA2195D or Sony CXA1145M instead). Pin 7 picks the colour system: low for PAL, high for NTSC. It has built-in 75 Ω drivers for every output and also contains an audio buffer. No picture or only a black-and-white picture with sound working points here or at the subcarrier input; composite quality on Model 2 depends mostly on this chip.
